
Appointment of New Executive Director for Languages Canada
The Languages Canada Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gonzalo Peralta as Executive Director. Gonzalo, who will be based in the Ottawa area, brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the language industry.
Prior to joining Languages Canada, he served for almost three years as the President of AILIA (Association de l'industrie de la langue/Language Industry Association), and his career to date has spanned over 25 years, with experience in the three main sectors of the language industry: translation, language technologies and language training. Gonzalo is fluent in French, English and Spanish, and speaks Portuguese at an intermediate level.
Gonzalo has held various positions in the language industry, from linguistic, operational, human resources and training and development positions to marketing, financial and executive management roles. Among his previous positions are: President and CEO of The BabelFish Corporation, Consultant with Convivium Corporation, and President of Living Language Services Inc., as well as numerous board and advisory positions with such organizations as CAPLS, CICF and Projet ACCORD.
