
Conference Registration opens November 13, 2009
Languages Canada's 3rd annual conference will be held at the Delta Hotel in St. John's Newfoundland beginning on Monday, March 8th until Wednesday, March 10th. The event will immediately precede the CMEC (Council of Ministers of Education of Canada) Bursary Program conference that many LC members also attend. Languages Canada will recognize the accomplishments of the association which have been achieved during these early years and will continue to enhance and develop long term plans to promote and advocate Canada's language training industry nationally and internationally. There will be both plenary sessions and professional development workshops in 3 streams: Marketing, Student Experience, and Leadership .
The keynote address entitled the "Power of Persuasion" will be given by Heath Slawner, an internationally recognized speaker, and an authority on the "Principles of Persuasion" has helped many groups leverage the science of persuasion to achieve outstanding results.
Languages Canada is Canada's premier language organization representing both of Canada's official languages: English and French. Membership is limited to member programs, both public and private, which meet the rigorous standards of the association and who are committed to upholding them. The internationally recognized quality assurance scheme is comprehensive, rigorous and covers the areas of: curriculum, teacher qualifications, student services, student admissions, marketing, promotion, facilities and administration.
