LANGUAGES CANADA PROUDLY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

At its 2012 Annual General Meeting (AGM), Languages Canada members elected their new Board of Directors for 2012-2013. The Board will oversee the governance of the Association and work with the management team to implement the vision of the Association.  Board member terms are effective March 1, 2012.

AGENTS AND EDUCATORS AGREE, LANGUAGES CANADA TRADE MISSION A GREAT SUCCESS

The Agent Satisfaction Survey results from Languages Canada's most recent trade mission to Russia, Ukraine and Turkey reveal that 96.2 per cent of agents surveyed evaluated the trade mission as excellent or very good. The survey, part of a six month follow-up to last October's trade mission, measured the level of satisfaction among participating educational agencies.

Successful Hope for Youth Japanese Scholarship Program Celebrated

As Canada gears up to remember the 1st Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, which took place on March 11, 2011, Languages Canada, at its 5th Annual Conference, will celebrate its innovative and compassionate Japanese scholarship program entitled Hope for Youth.  The program offers full scholarships for English and French language education to Japanese students affected by the disaster.  Students receive free tuition, air fare, insurance and accommodation so they can continue with their language studies here in Canada.

Languages Canada offers more than 170 accredited member programs nation-wide

January 25, 2012...As recently reported in various media around the country, the federal government is getting out of the business of providing in-house language training to its employees. Generally speaking, about 40 per cent of all federal jobs are designated bilingual and the remaining 60 per cent are English or French essential. Fortunately, Languages Canada, a not-for-profit association, offers more than 170 accredited English and French language education programs, in both the public and private sectors across the country, with 76 member programs in Ontario and Quebec alone.
