Languages Canada and ICEF become Global Partners

Languages Canada and  ICEF  are pleased to announce the signing of a Global Partnership Agreement.  Languages Canada is Canada's premier language training organization representing accredited French and English language programs, both public and private. ICEF has built a reputation for quality by connecting educators and student recruitment agents in key markets and networks worldwide, helping them achieve the results and efficiencies they require to increase international student enrolment.

In recognition of Languages Canada’s commitment to put students first, ICEF will allow only accredited Canadian language programs (public and private sector) to participate at their agent workshops.  Markus Badde, CEO of ICEF explains, “The only way agents can truly protect themselves and their clients is by working with institutions that guarantee quality and student protection.  Languages Canada has done an admirable job in transforming the Canadian language training landscape and ICEF is excited to embark on this new collaboration.  Good agents deserve good schools.”

The agreement will give Languages Canada members reduced rates at ICEF events globally and increased visibility for both French and English member programs at ICEF agent workshops.  “ We’re extremely pleased to partner with ICEF”, commented Languages Canada’s President Calum MacKechnie, “and very happy that ICEF has taken a bold step to ensure that only accredited Canadian language programs are introduced to agents at their events.  Our members have made an investment in quality that ICEF has clearly recognized .”

Languages Canada will participate and have a much stronger presence in key ICEF events, such partnering to offer the ICEF North America Workshop in Vancouver from May 26 to 28, 2011.  The event will be supported by the members of the Canadian Consortium for International Education Marketing (CCIEM) - the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), and Canadian Association of Public Schools – International (CAPS-I).  Various government partners such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Council of Ministers of Education of Canada, BC Council for International Education, Edu Nova and others will also be invited to participate.
