Languages Canada secures $100,000 for members through CanExport - Associations Program

Languages Canada has been awarded a $256,000 grant from the CanExport – Associations Program (formerly known as Global Opportunities for Associations) in support of the association’s international business development efforts in 2019-2020.

CanExport – Associations, a federal grant program administered by Global Affairs Canada,  supports Canadian national trade organizations undertaking new or expanded international business development activities in strategic markets and sectors. The objectives of the CanExport – Associations Program is to increase Canadian prosperity, competitiveness, and capacity in the international marketplace.

Of the total CanExport – Associations funding, $100,000 is earmarked to directly offset Languages Canada member programs' costs of participation in international business development activities. These include:

CanExport-Associations funding will also allow Languages Canada to improve its research on international education market forces and trends, student flows, and competitors, to inform a new market diversification strategy.

In addition to the CanExport – Associations funding to members, Languages Canada can assist its private member programs to apply for supplemental funding to further offset the cost of participation in international business development activities.
