Jim Clark, CEO of SMRT English and Gonzalo Peralta, Executive Director of Languages Canada will co-present at the BCCIE Summer Conference on Monday June 19. The presentation, entitled “Language Policy, Technology and Learning”, will explore the impact of technology on pedagogy, distribution channels, and government policy. A synopsis of the presentation is provided below:
"Technology may be able to make delivery of education and even learning faster, higher, and stronger, but our nature and social structures still necessitate a human element. The changes being experienced by the education sector have to somehow be implemented through policy, and “sold” not only to other educators and to students, but also to governments and other stakeholders."
The 2017 BCCIE Summer Conference takes place in Kelowna, B.C. from June 18-21.
