Languages Canada is pleased to announce Dr. Denise Abreu e Lima as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Bridges to the Future annual conference to be held in Ottawa-Gatineau, March 1 to 4, 2015.

By using language as one of the foundations for Brazil’s internationalization efforts, Languages Without Borders is changing the way the world understands language education. As the keynote presenter, Dr. Abreu e Lima will share her vision of language education, the strategic objectives of Languages Without Borders, and its implementation process.

Brazil, an essential partner for Canada in all facets of international cooperation, is a priority partner for Canada’s International Education Strategy with the end goal of doubling the number of international students in Canada by 2022.

Brazil’s language revolution plays a pivotal role in this process as leaders like Dr. Abreu e Lima create policy and programs that foster growth and innovation for the sector. Canada is fortunate to be part of this initiative, as two of the most important languages within the program are English and French.

We are very excited to welcome such an accomplished speaker to our event. Please join us at our conference to meet Dr. Abreu e Lima and hear her deliver this address.

Stay tuned for more announcements on other speakers and panels presentations in the coming weeks. To register, please visit the conference webpage.
