Languages Canada is Canada’s national association for English and French language programs, representing 200 college, university, and private language school members in 185 study locations across Canada. Members collectively welcome over 120,000 international students to Canada each year. Membership is limited to language programs that meet the rigorous quality standards of the association.
Languages Canada is seeking a unique candidate to support its international programs and promotion/marketing initiatives. Working under the guidance of the Director, International Affairs, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the execution of activities such as in-Canada and overseas trade missions, familiarization (fam) tours, student fairs, international recruitment/promotional events, and the administration of the International Experience Canada program.
The candidate will also be tasked to provide project administration and logistics support as needed for other initiatives undertaken by the association, including the Languages Canada Annual Conference.
LOCATION:
Anywhere in Canada. The position requires working from a home-based office. It is essential that the successful candidate be able to work independently from home while maintaining continuous virtual communication with the team, members, event participants, partners, and service providers, as needed.
Travel within Canada will be required (e.g., for participation in the LC Annual Conference and inbound trade missions) as well as occasional travel outside of Canada (e.g., for participation in outbound trade missions and student fairs), approximately 30 to 40 days per year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and delivery of the association’s international affairs activities under the guidance of the Director, International Affairs under five main streams:
1) Trade Missions and FAM tours;
2) International marketing events, such as agent workshops, receptions, info webinars, etc.;
3) Study-in-Canada student fairs around the world;
4) Delivery of the International Experience Canada in coordination, for which Languages Canada is a Recognized Organization (work and study program for inbound and outbound youth).
5) Other association activities/projects as needed, such as the Languages Canada Annual Conference.
- Provide project administration support on several projects and events throughout the year, as needed. Role includes support with project planning and progress tracking; managing event registrations; supporting event logistics, communications, and coordination with participants, partners, and service providers; providing onsite event support; budget tracking; and project reporting.
- Support communication and outreach between the association and external stakeholders, including service providers and international organizations.
- Help to develop and maintain relationships with international education institutions, governments, and organizations through joint projects.
- Coordinate and manage the International Experience Canada program, including study abroad, exchange programs, and international partnerships. This includes overseeing the application process, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to schools and stakeholders involved in these programs.
- Coordinate regular communication with Languages Canada members related to events, projects, surveys, and other pertinent initiatives and issues of relevance to the sector.
- Coordinate research initiatives, as needed, including preparation of in-house surveys, collection, analysis, and presentation of data, as well as working with external research consultants.

- Ability to use technology effectively for communication and project management purposes (e.g., email, HubSpot, Google Docs, Surveys, Eventbrite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- At least three (3) years experience in Canadian international education recruitment and/or Canadian language education marketing;
- Experience executing marketing/promotional events;
- Experience in recruitment and/or sales;
- Experience with project/program administration.
CREDENTIALS:
- Minimum undergraduate degree or college diploma in Marketing, Administration, International Studies or related discipline;
- Citizen or landed immigrant in Canada;
- Ability to travel internationally; valid passport required.
ASSETS:
- Familiarity with Canada’s language education and/or international education sector;
- Familiarity with Canada's immigration system, particularly policies and data related to international students;
- Knowledge of web platforms and ability to make basic edits to the back end of a website;
- Experience with member-based associations, government and/or education agencies;
- Experience in technical writing;
- Additional language(s).
