Languages Canada to embark on first trade mission to Asia

Languages Canada, the association representing Canada’s 228 accredited language education programs and schools in both English and French, is proud to announce that it will soon lead a delegation of seven of its member schools and partners to Shanghai, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to take part in a new trade mission.

The delegation will begin the mission in Shanghai from November 23 to 26 for a series of meetings with local agents, education stakeholders and government representatives. “China is a powerhouse market, and the combination of the geographic proximity and the Canadian cultural openness make Canada a natural choice for Chinese students. Through this trade mission, we want to ensure the agents and students have all of the information they need about Canada as a study destination,” says Gonzalo Peralta, Executive Director of Languages Canada.

The mission will continue on to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam from November 26 to 28. “Vietnam has been a growing source country for Canadian schools, and the creation of the National Foreign Language 2020 program will contribute to strengthen that,” says Charbel Moreno, Manager of International Affairs and Marketing for Languages Canada.

Six member schools and one partner company will be taking part in this mission, made possible thanks to the support of the Government of Canada’s Global Opportunities for Associations program. LC members schools attending may offer pathway programs, summer programs, junior and young adult programs, as well as English as a second language and French as a second language programs.

Rated as one of the top quality language education destinations in the world, Canada has much to offer international students. From vibrant urban settings to the breathtaking serene landscapes in rural areas, Canada has it all. Welcoming communities and diverse cultural activities round off the list making Canada an ideal choice for students to learn while traveling abroad.

Languages Canada is the not-for-profit association that represents more than 228 language education member programs across Canada, which offer accredited English and French programs from both the public and private sectors.
