The award-winning UVic English Language Centre (ELC) is home to a multicultural community of students pursuing their language-learning goals, through on-campus or online studies. The ELC has been delivering English programs at UVic since 1970 and is a renowned leader in international education.

Programas Pathway

University Admission Preparation (UAP)

This advanced academic English program is for learners who meet all UVic’s admission requirements except for English proficiency. Many UAP learners qualify for conditional admission, with a passing UAP grade satisfying the English requirement for entry to their UVic undergraduate degree.

UVic Pathway Program

This is a specialized first-year program that combines undergraduate credit courses with advanced English classes, including University Admission Preparation. Learners who successfully complete this program will have earned 10.5 of the 12 required first-year academic credits and will then continue in the second year of their chosen UVic degree.
