Languages Canada Hosts Heads of Leading Private Language Schools Operating in Canada To Discuss Issues and Opportunities for the Sector

On September 1, 2023, Languages Canada held a Leaders' Meeting on the margins of Alphe UK in London at Canada House on Trafalgar Square. The group of 25 attendees was composed of directors and CEOs from schools which together welcome nearly 50% of all students attending Languages Canada members to study English or French in any given year!

The event featured a brief presentation by the Senior Trade Commissioner at Canada’s High Commission to the UK on the advantages of Foreign Direct Investment in Canada. Gonzalo Peralta, Languages Canada’s Executive Director offered a warm welcome to the audience which included many members whose headquarters are located in the UK, Ireland and Malta. StudyTravel’s Scott Wade also participated in the event, welcoming the group to London and highlighting Canada’s recent history as a preferred destination among many agent associations, featured in a number of articles by StudyTravel Magazine.

One of the main topics discussed was the Canadian Letter of Acceptance Verification System. LC’s Director of International Affairs, Diego Sanchez, gave an overview of the system and how it will generate more value for members, their students and partner agents thanks to its impact on visa approval rates and processing times. Members in attendance also got a glimpse of preliminary results from the Quarterly Reports on Language Education in Canada for Q1 and Q2 2023.

Languages Canada had the privilege of welcoming Lorie Lee, International Business Development, and Nicoletta Pinto, Head of Sales & Business Development EU & UK, from guard.me International Insurance. Thank you to guard.me for supporting the Leaders’ Meeting as the event’s exclusive sponsor.
