Launch of Languages Canada’s International Experience Canada Program

Languages Canada is pleased to announce that it has become the newest Recognized Organization (RO) in IRCC’s International Experience Canada (IEC) program, together with a consortium of eight accredited language school members:

  • ATPAL Languages
  • Centre of English Studies
  • Global Village
  • International House
  • ILSC Education Group
  • Oxford International Education Group
  • Upper Madison College
  • VGC International College

IEC facilitates work and travel opportunities for Canadian youth and foreign national youth, providing life-changing personal and professional experiences by working and travelling in Canada or abroad. Some 90,000 international youth come into Canada through IEC every year.

The Languages Canada (LC) Consortium offers international youth the opportunity to study English or French in one of six cities (Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal or Halifax) then gain valuable work experience in Canada. Participation is limited to youth from Youth Mobility Agreement partner countries seeking working holiday visas and requires a commitment to undertake a minimum 12 weeks of intensive English or French classes prior to starting work.

As an RO, the LC Consortium can offer eligible international youth a guaranteed Invitation to Apply and allow them to skip the general pool of applicants to the IEC Program. No study permit or provincial attestation letter is required; participants come to Canada with an open work permit.

Reciprocally, the LC Consortium also offers Canadian youth a range of packages for facilitated travel and work abroad experiences. Destination countries and territories are limited to those with a Youth Mobility Agreement with Canada which includes a working holiday option. LC Consortium members are actively looking to grow partnership networks with Canadian and international organizations to expand and enrich employment opportunities abroad for young Canadians.
