About the Languages Canada Conference

The Languages Canada Annual Conference has always been our flagship event, a meeting place for our members and other Canadian and international education partners and stakeholders to re-connect, share, learn, and collaborate.

Similar to last year’s event in Ottawa, our 2023 Conference will feature opportunities to engage with invited ministers and MPs to highlight the importance of Canada's English and French language education sector, in addition to a varied and stimulating professional development program.

The 16th Annual Conference conference kicks off on Wednesday, February 22 at the Westin Nova Scotian in the heart of the Halifax Seaport District with a casual welcome reception, followed by two full days of plenary and breakout sessions on February 23 and 24, and concludes with our closing reception on Friday, February 24. The members-only AGM takes place on Saturday, February 25.

There will be plenary sessions and professional development workshops involving international presenters in three streams:

  • Marketing and Promotion;
  • Best Practices, Quality, Standards;
  • Program Management, Research, Innovation and Technology.

Close to 200 delegates are expected to attend the 2023 Conference, including owners, directors, program managers, marketing staff and academic leaders from Canadian public and private language education programs; provincial and federal government officials; NGOs; invited international guests; Canadian Trade Commissioners; and other key influencers in the field of international education.
