TYCP & I-TESOL for Children

This program is geared towards Educators and Care-Takers from abroad who enjoy learning about education for children. Students will learn about education standards, methods, and language teaching as it relates to young children in Canadian. At the same time, students are able to improve their own English skills and gain practical knowledge.

EFP (English for Professionals)

Students learn a lot of useful idioms and expand their vocabulary as it relates to different topics of world issues. Emphasis is equally given to all four aspects: speaking, listening, writing, and learning. The course also prepares students who want to take the exam for the certification in translation/interpretation, approved by the Canadian government or American ILTI.

SSP (Speaking for Success Program – Media)

This course is designed to dramatically improve students’ natural speaking style and fluency. Students will learn how to accurately pronounce difficult sounds, speak with confidence, and fill the silence with useful small talk. Students can also expect extensive one-on-one teacher-student feedback in order to improve accuracy.

BEDP (Business English Diploma Program)

Our Business English students will learn how to create resumes, practice interviewing, learn about management styles, how to negotiate for what you want, and how to make a powerful presentation. When students finish the course they have a strong foundation in business vocabulary and practical skills applicable to the business world at large.

TOEFL - iBT  (Test Preparation Program)

The main advantage of our TOEFL-iBT course here at SGIC is that we do not focus solely on the tests. Anyone interested is pursuing his/her English at an advanced level can attend this course. You will not only increase your TOEFL-iBT score but also achieve a higher standard of vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills. This 8 weeks course is divided into two stages of four weeks each

IELTS  (Test Preparation Program)

SGIC IELTS Preparation Program is designed for students to learn and master the techniques of each part of the exam: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Understanding the challenge question and vocabulary is half the battle of succeeding in the IELTS test. SGIC’s program also concentrates on the vocabulary and comprehension needed to increase test results from students.

PPP  (Pre-Pathway Program )

This program dives into the “how to” of grammar needed to produce good, logical writing. Although writing is the focus, listening and speaking skills are also weaved into the course. The program combines academic course work with advanced English language training to enable students to integrate smoothly and successfully into the University and College preparation program (UCPP).

UCPP (University and College Pathway Program)

The SGIC UCPP course is designed for international students who have already reached an advanced level or have completed 8 weeks of SGIC’s Advanced ESL or who have gaps to their knowledge needed to succeed at a Canadian college or university. Specifically, UCPP is designed to fill the academic gaps needed to succeed in post-secondary programs instructed in English. UCPP covers all the language skills comprehensively: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, including sub skills such as vocabulary and grammar within an academic context in a variety of tasks and assignments typically found at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Our program has partnerships with several colleges and universities. For a complete list, please visit our website.
