Meet the Team
The Languages Canada team is a dedicated group of professionals working across the country to support members, advance advocacy efforts, and strengthen the quality and global reputation of language education in Canada. Together, they lead initiatives in public affairs, international partnerships, quality assurance, and member services, ensuring the association continues to deliver value to its members and the broader sector.
Executive Director
Gonzalo Peralta
Gonzalo is responsible for the leadership of the association, including oversight of advocacy, partnerships, planning, implementation, international affairs, governance, quality assurance, and operations.
Director, Public Affairs
Rachel Lindsey
Rachel oversees all endeavours in public affairs. She is also responsible for operations including human resources, project management and coordination.
Director, Finances
Linda Auzins
Linda manages the association's finances and provides board and committee support.

Valerie Kilgour
Valerie manages the association's membership, quality assurance and professional development endeavours.
Director, International Affairs
Diego Sanchez
Diego is responsible for trade missions, FAM tours and international promotion events in which Languages Canada participates.
Director, Academic Partnerships
Dr. Jennifer MacDonald
Jennifer focuses on strengthening collaboration between language programs and post-secondary institutions, and developing scholarship agreements with international partners.
Manager, Outbound Youth Program
Yulia Motuz
Yulia connects Canadian youth with work opportunities abroad as part of Languages Canada's role as a Recognized Organization (RO) under the Government of Canada’s International Experience program.
International Affairs Officer
Luis Daniel Vargas
Luis supports the Languages Canada IEC Consortium RO initiative and the association's international affairs activities. He also manages all data collection and research projects.
Communications Officer
Marie-Claude Loiselle
Marie-Claude is the “hub” of all communications projects for the association, including media relations, print and online communications pieces, social media and Languages Canada’s website.
