From February 22 to 28, 2026, Languages Canada led a major outbound trade mission that brought together Canadian institutions from across the country with leading education agencies from mainland China and Taiwan. The mission was strategically timed to coincide with the 2026 APAIE Conference, which welcomed over 3,000 delegates from around the world.

A highly successful trade mission took place, March 15-21, 2026, as part of Languages Canada’s ongoing efforts to promote its members to Mexican partners and strengthen existing agreements. The initiative brought renewed momentum to Canada–Mexico collaboration in language education and reinforced the country’s position as a top destination for Mexican students.

Languages Canada announced the national expansion of the Joint Pathway Program (JPP) pilot at its 19^th Annual Conference in Calgary, extending the initiative beyond the initial Ontario launch to participating institutions across the country and marking a major step forward in strengthening Canada’s international student pathway ecosystem.

From September 7 to 11, 2025, Languages Canada led an outbound trade mission to Kyoto and Osaka, Japan, with the gracious support of the Trade Commissioner Service in Japan and the collaboration of the Canadian Associations for Public Schools – International (CAPS-I). The initiative brought together 24 pre–screened Japanese education agents and Canadian institutional representatives for a vibrant week of engagement at the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, and a productive B2B program hosted at a special venue in Kyoto. The mission showcased Canada’s immersive English and French programs and reaffirmed Japan as the top source market for language education in Canada.

A first-of-its-kind national study released today by Languages Canada reveals that English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs offered by public colleges and universities are instrumental in supporting international student retention and academic achievement—key outcomes for institutions navigating an increasingly competitive and uncertain international education landscape.

Languages Canada, in partnership with EnglishUSA, BELTA, the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, and Air Canada, proudly hosted 17 top-performing Brazilian education agencies in a dual-city trade mission across New York City (June 8) and Niagara-on-the-Lake (June 12), with additional campus tours in Manhattan, Philadelphia, Delaware, and the Greater Toronto Area.
